How To Clean Used Headphones
Do this on both the ear cups in areas like fabric folds and the main headphone unit.
How to clean used headphones. Remove the ear pads and wipe the exterior of the headphones down with a small cloth dampened with some soap and warm water. After soaking use a cotton swab dipped in the soap mixture to give them a better cleaning. Just dont go overboard if you dont want to scuff up the material in any way.

I rinse them off and then let them dry. Whenever I recieve or send out headphones I remove the pads and soak them in dilute hydrogen pyroxide. Dont use any liquids or sprays which can potentially damage them.
Then wipe down your headphone pads. Clean the microphone and speaker meshes with a dry cotton swab. Squeeze out remaining moisture and allow to dry completely before reattaching them to the headset.
