Im late on this but since HZD has limited saves my only saves were level 60 with all skills umlocked about 50000 shards and 6070 very rare modifications all 11 DLC modifications etc. No Idea on the exact effect apart from exclusive braging rights when you hit Ghost Level 1337. Horizon Zero Dawn XP is essential to your progress in the game as you can use it to level up Aloy and make things easier for yourself.

Prowler skills improve stealth Brave skills enhance combat effectiveness and the Forager tree cuts down on. Only in newgame I believe. In Horizon Zero Dawn it looks like the max level cap is level 50.
