Can You Solder With A Hot Glue Gun
The big word is usually.
Can you solder with a hot glue gun. Gotta be careful with super glue get any on the leads and you wont be able to solder it to save your life. A hot melt glue gun does not get as hot as a soldering iron and the highest temperature is inside the chamber not at the tip. Like Dave said it depends who you ask but the bottom line is it is safe to do it if you want to.
So its not just the peak temperature that. The Draper should be hot enough to melt the very low temp solder used in these connectors. Personally I dont like it solder it properly and cover any bare wire with heat shrink and itll be fine.
No you cant. If you must use anything at all then cheap hot glue works well and can be peeled off fairly easily if needed plus the stuff is pretty much inert and wont hurt anything. Hot glue and epoxy is used by big manufacturers to protect soldered joints etc.
If you have a high-temperature glue gun possibly. Unlike a gun a soldering iron doesnt need to be turned off on on repeatedly because it stays hot longer which contributes to a smoother workflow. It is applied in addition to solder so solder provides the electrical connection and the glue provides some additional mechanical support.
Here are two methods of welding plastic. Using Hot Glue to Insulate and Support Soldering Joints. If it doesnt peel then a heat gun will soften it enough so it can be pulled off.
If there are eyelets that allow the wires to be inserted and twisted or crimped to make a tight metal-to-metal connection then a hot glue gun might be used to support and maintain the connection. Irons have less voltage than soldering guns. Are you jtagging an xbox.
