Make your own pyrography tips. Take it to a grinder or power sanding belt and make a half round ball and polish it. I think i even used an upholstery hammer to tap the hot wire on some. Remove the soldering iron.
High melting point guarantees that the tips you create do not easily break under light pressure. I agree with Mesquiter it is fun to make your own but at the end of the day I find that the factory made ones are more consistent and last longer than my home made ones. Sharpening stone for polishing the points. I dont consider polishing an essential feature. You might take the wire and squeeze the loop tightly with pliers.
Some of the ones I flattened I took needle nose. Test your new pyrography pen by plugging in the power supply. Once theyre connected wrap thread around the connection points and superglue it together.
