How Do I Solder Two Wires Together
The process is carried out using a small amount of metal alloy known as solder and a heated handheld tool called a soldering iron.
How do i solder two wires together. When done properly you have a strong conductive connection that turns two separate wires into one. Cut the two wires to be soldered together to the appropriate length as needed for your project. The process of soldering is taking two or more wires and joining them together and then using heat to melt electrical solder connecting those two wires permanently.
All of these approaches require that the wire material be solder-able with any enamel or oxide coating scrubbed off. By Mike Allen. Cut the two wires in order to make sure that the copper core of the wire is not corroded or contaminated inside see image below.
2 Heat the joint with a soldering iron or pencil from underneath. This tool worked the best for me in the automotive application and make it a breeze get that tuff to reach wires repaired soldered and sealed properly. Do it in such a way that the wraps do not overlay.
You need to wrap the wires one around the other. Use rosin core solder. If possible you should twist the wires in-line before soldering as this makes a stronger and neater join than twisting the ends together.
The most secure and durable way to splice two wires together is to solder them. Use nothing but 60-40 rosin-core solder intended for electrical wiring. Tin the soldering gun ie melt a little solder on it.
Place soldering iron under the wire. Bring both stripped ends together like shown in the image below. They should be propped up off the workspace so you can have access to the area under the wires.
