Put on non-porous rubber gloves to remove the pieces and rinse them off thoroughly under running water. You can also soak in Vinegar overnight then wash in hot soapy water. Rinse the sippy cup as soon as possible after use.
Also you can use baking soda and let it sit for a while baking soda helps absorb odors. A diluted bleach solution can sterilize the sippy cup and help remove mold. Sterilizing the sippy cup with boiling water.
Fill the sink or dish pan again with enough warm water to submerge the sippy cup and add in half a cap of bleach if you want to take an extra step to ensure the cup and parts have been completely sterilized. Just like with glassware and dishware filling the sink with water adding bleach then soaking the parts overnight will work wonders and remove. Scrub every part using specially-shaped brushes.
Remember dont mix bleach with any other household cleaners. Use a wet cotton swab to clean any areas you can fit it into. You CAN safely use a bleach solution to sanitize sippy cups.
